Unless you live under a rock or don't ride bikes, you'd a have noticed that for 2009 the average price of our beloved two-wheelers has risen with a fair amount of oomph! Some brands slapping as much as 20% right across their range.
There are a number of good reasons for this which we won't go into, but there are two obvious upsides as a result.
1. The Independent Bicycle Dealer can now get a little more margin back, and possibly can get away with slightly less volume than last season in order to beat budget.
For years we consumers have been spoiled with a sharp down turn in the average price of a new bike. This is all good for us, but not so for the dealer - without whom we would not have an industry at all.
For these passionate stores there is at last a little silver lining in the shape of more margin per sale of new bike. Believe me, they don't make nearly as much on a ne bike as many may suspect! That is a Myth!!
Now for the best bit........
2. YOU - the bargain hungry punter who doesn't necessarily have to be seen on the latest 2012 model Iron Horse Martian Probe can now pick up a really damn hot bargain right here on Cyclenet. All of a sudden all those 2007/2008 model bikes sitting in stores and warehouses have become highly sought after.
Even at their regular pre-'09 RRP's these bikes represent great value, but when they turn up on Cyclenet courteous of a generous dealer you're getting extra cream and anchovies on your next NEW bike!
Right here is where all the best deals will be seen and in fact when the New Year comes around you'll start seeing 2009 bikes sporting HUGE tax cuts right here awsell!
Good alround we say!
